Chery is making a bold move with the introduction of the Tiggo Cross, a compact SUV that aims to shake up the South African market with its combination of style, features, and affordability.
Positioned above the Tiggo 4 Pro, the Tiggo Cross boasts a distinctive design inspired by the tiger, featuring a prominent grille, sleek LED headlights, and a dynamic silhouette. Two trim levels are available: Comfort and Elite.
Both variants are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 108 kW and 210 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Chery claims a combined fuel consumption of 6.5L/100km.
The Tiggo Cross Comfort, priced at R399,900, offers a comprehensive list of standard features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, and a suite of safety features.
Stepping up to the Elite model, priced at R449,900, adds luxuries such as heated power-adjustable seats, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver-assistance systems like adaptive cruise control and blind-spot detection.
Chery backs the Tiggo Cross with a 5-year/150,000 km warranty and a 10-year/1-million km engine warranty for the original owner, along with a 5-year/60,000 km service plan.
