Opel introduces new Crossland SUV

Opel South Africa has had a busy year launching their highly anticipated Corsa. But it seems that Opel has plans to take the SUV market by storm too. Yes, lurking in the corners and making their debut in style will be the all-new facelifted Crossland SUV. The revised Crossland SUV will get a bold new look, and a striking new front design called the Opel Vizor.

The Opel Vizor design is firmly linked to Opel’s past iconic models and will make the statement that all Opel models are ’future ready'. The Opel Vizor design on the Crossland SUV will see the grille and headlights get integrated. The brand’s illustrious lightning-flash emblem will take centre stage for the design. The overall makeover will also incorporate new dark-tinted taillights at the rear, and a new high-gloss black Tailgate surface that makes the new Crossland look wider and bolder.

LED fog lamps will come standard too (on the Elegance model) as well as stylish 16-inch light-alloy wheels. Other distinguishing characteristics of this charming SUV will be the rear Crossland badge which is laid out across the tailgate. Under the hood, the Crossland SUV line-up will range will feature a Crossland Edition which is powered by a 1.2-litre engine that produces 60kW and gets paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. As well as a 1.2-litre turbo engine that produces 81kW and gets paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Next in line will be the Crossland Elegance model that gets the same 1.2-litre Turbo engine that produces 81kW and gets paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox too.

Leading this highly designed cabin will be the latest updated 7” colour touchscreen infotainment system, which offers both Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Bluetooth compatibility will be available too, as well as six premium speakers. Chrome and gloss black finishes will be featured on the dashboard and interior door panels giving the Crossland’s interior a more premium feel. The Crossland will offer a generous number of head and legroom in the front too, with even the rear providing an ample amount of space. This nifty SUV will also feature a 60/40 split in the rear seating, turning the boot space from 410 litres to 520 litres.

In terms of safety, the Crossland SUV will offer a range of safety functions such as Forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Drowsiness Alert, Front, and Rear Park Assist, Cruise control with speed limiter, ABS, EBFD, and Hill Start Assist.
