Mercedes-AMG GLE Models Arrive with Style in South Africa
Mercedes-AMG, the herald of automotive performance and luxury, has given us a remarkable update to their revered GLE SUV and Coupé models. In this exciting evolution, they've drawn inspiration from the recently refreshed GLE range.
The front-end design for the GLE SUV and Coupé now incorporates new LED daytime running lights.
The '53' models have had a few nips and tucks in front, sporting a sleek appearance with side air intakes. The fascia wears the AMG emblem proudly. Towards the rear, it's modern and has LED tail lamps.
In terms of offerings, the GLE 53 4MATIC+ SUV has an electric panoramic sliding sunroof, heated front seats, Adaptive High beam Assist, and seamless Smartphone integration.
The GLE 53 4MATIC+ SUV also has an AMG Performance exhaust system, a Burmester sound system, the Memory Package for added convenience, a 360-degree Parking camera, the Keless-go package for effortless entry, and Blind Spot Assistance.
The latest iteration of the AMG Performance steering has a heated steering wheel option, or you can go for the carbon fibre look.
Meanwhile, the GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé takes luxury to new heights with climate-controlled front seats, the immersive MBUX Augmented Reality function, and dazzling MULTIBEAM LED headlamps.
Stepping up to the GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé, one has luxurious interior appointments with an AIR-BALANCE Package, multi-contour front seats, and a futuristic head-up display. Additional features are the MBUX Interior Assistant, temperature-controlled cupholders, and an AMG-specific logo projector that greets you with an animation display as you open the front doors.
The GLE 53 4MATIC+ is powered by a 320 kW 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine, now endowed with even more torque due to a software update and a larger turbo. It sprints at 0-100km/h in five seconds.
The GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ is the epitome of pure AMG Driving Performance. It's the ultimate blend of sportiness, off-road versatility, and everyday functionality. The '63' models feature the proven AMG 4.0-litreV8 biturbo engine, pushing out 450 kW.
Both engines incorporate electrification through an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and a 48-volt electrical system. The ISG serves as both starter and alternator, wielding hybrid functions like boosting, recovery, load point shifting, sailing, and seamless engine restarts during the start/stop function.
All AMG GLE models have the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system when conquering diverse terrains, ensuring traction and control. The AMG Ride Control, coupled with air suspension using adaptive adjustable damping and the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL active roll stabilisation in the '63' models, will surely give one a comfortable yet exciting experience.
