Mercedes-AMG's GT 'Black Series' is two years away. But for those who cannot wait for the most extreme version of the Mercedes AMG GT R, German tuner Domanig Autodesign has a solution.
Certain mechanicals have been fettled, and thanks to larger turbos, a new performance exhaust system, performance air filters, and an extra radiator, power leaps from 430kw to 573kw and a staggering 960nm! Remember this car is rear-wheel drive. To make sure, the power is dispatched properly, the gearbox’s software has been reconfigured, as well as the ECU.
Thanks to the massive power bump, it now runs from 0-100kph in just 2.9 seconds, 0-200kph in 8.8 seconds, and onto an electronically limited top speed of 330kph.
A set of Koni sport springs lowers the car by 30mm all round. It also features a suspension lift system which is activated by a switch mounted next to the gear lever, and at speeds higher than 80kph, the suspension lowers automatically to improve aerodynamic efficiency. It's completed with the fitment up Michelin-wrapped custom D-Ultralight wheels measuring 20" up front and 21" at the rear.
Domanig Autodesign have not released any pricing but say the conversion is POA.

Should You Buy It?
The Domanig tuned Mercedes-AMG GT R is a serious piece of kit for wealthy petrolheads who want to embarrass supercars costing twice as much. With 573kW and that brutal 960Nm of torque, this thing will demolish anything from the traffic lights and give you bragging rights at Cars and Coffee. However, since pricing is POA and you're starting with a Mercedes-AMG GT R that already costs around R3,500,000 before modifications, expect the final bill to easily exceed R4,000,000. Unless you've got serious cash burning a hole in your pocket and live near a racetrack, most buyers should wait for the official Black Series or consider the standard AMG GT R, which is already mental enough for South African roads.
