Kia teases their first dedicated EV

Not too long-ago Kia announced their updated Plan S strategy which will see the company primarily focus on producing EV’s in the upcoming years. The South Korean manufacturers have not been shy in their plans to join this electric era and have officially given us a teaser of their first fully dedicated EV. Introducing the EV6, the first of Kia’s next-generation battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and will be built on the company’s new EV platform (Electric-Global Modular Platform, or E-GMP).

Karim Habib, Senior Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design Centre says “the EV6 is the embodiment of both our brand purpose, ‘Movement that inspires’, and our new design philosophy. It has been designed to inspire every journey by offering an instinctive and natural experience that improves the daily lives of our customers, and provides user ownership that is simple, intuitive, and integrated.”

Kia’s new dedicated battery electric vehicles will be getting a new naming strategy. This new approach is Kia’s way of bringing a sense of simplicity and consistency to their EV naming system. All dedicated BEVs will start with the prefix ‘EV’ which will make it easier for consumers to understand which of Kia’s products are fully electric. To follow this will be a number that will be in correlation to the car’s position in the line-up.

Kia has also adopted a brand-new slogan ‘Movement that inspires’. The Kia EV6 will make its world premiere during the first quarter of this year.
