Kia EV6 GT Makes Its Mark

This annual list, in existence for over two decades, highlights 200 remarkable innovations, encompassing new products and ideas identified by TIME editors as transformative in our lives.

To curate this list, TIME collects nominations from its editors and correspondents worldwide and through an online application process, with a particular focus on emerging fields like AI, green energy, and sustainability. Editors evaluate each contender based on originality, effectiveness, ambition, and impact criteria.
The result is a roster of 200 ground-breaking inventions (plus 50 extraordinary mention inventions), ranging from the world's most potent supercomputer to revolutionary entertainment venues and novel shapes, all reshaping how we live, work, play, and envision what's achievable, according to TIME editors.
Earlier in the year, the Kia EV6 GT clinched the prestigious 2023 World Performance Car award, boasting 430 kW of power, a 3.4-second 0-100 km/h acceleration time, and a top speed of 260 km/h. This all-electric vehicle's long-range capabilities, spacious interior, and sophisticated design outperformed stiff competition from traditional gasoline-powered sports cars.
