KIA reveals new design for Stinger

KIA Motors Corporation has finally given us a look into the new redesigned and upgraded, Stinger. The new KIA Stinger is set to go on sale in Korea, the latter part of 2020, with most of KIA’S global markets to follow the year after.

Now there are some noticeable changes to the exterior and interior of the new Stinger, many being to enhance the gran turismo character it possesses. The outside offers customers more options for customization while the inside gives us a more comfortable space to travel in.

The other exciting part besides the redesign is that the new Stinger also offers a more powerful engine. It packs a twin-turbo 3.3-litre V6 engine, that produces 272kW.

In the front of the Stinger, is the signature ‘tiger-nose’ grille, which is situated between the new multifaceted reflector LED headlamps, which also comes with LED daytime running lights. At the rear, is a rear combination lamp that displays a distinctive new light feature, which extends the full width of the car.

Now if you are someone who likes their car to look as masculine in the back as it is in the front, then KIA has you covered. As all buyers now have the option to specify bigger wide-bore bright silver exhaust mufflers, with a performance-inspired rear diffuser.

KIA has also introduced two new 18-inch and 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, which enhances the sporty look of the car bit more. The Stinger also comes with exciting new exterior colors, depending on the market. Two new exterior packages have also been introduced for the first time. If you are looking for high performance, then the new ‘Dark package’ will grab your attention as it comes with a gloss back diffuser surround and black wide-bore muffler tips. Now, for those who prefer to enhance the aesthetic of the Stinger, the ‘Black package’ will be the better option for you, as it comes with new 19-inch matte black lightweight wheels, a new rear wing for the trunk lid, and blacked-out mirror caps.

The interior of the Stinger is also available in a new color and material options. The most notable changes in the interior are the upgraded 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment and navigation system. It also features a new mood lighting system, which allows drivers to select between 64 colours. The rear mirrors are now also frameless, to create a more modern look.

KIA will announce more details about the upgraded Stinger very soon, as well as the powertrain line-up and technologies.

Also worth a look: the Kia Seltos and the Kia Sportage.
