Jaguar Land Rover has finally revealed its fastest and most powerful SUV - the F-Pace SVR.
The F-Pace SVR has been engineered by JLR's Special Vehicle Operations division (SVO), and features a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 under its muscular vented bonnet. While the same motor produces 423kw and 700nm in the F-Type SVR and Range Rover Sport SVR, it has been detuned for the slightly smaller F-Pace, with output now standing at 405kw and 680nm. Aerodynamic enhancements include larger air intakes at the front and side fender vents that lower pressure in the wheel arches, reducing lift and providing additional cooling while also assisting with high-speed stability. New, lightweight forged 21- and optional 22-inch alloy wheels are wider at the rear by 25mm compared to the front and contribute to the SVR’s enhanced handling. The 22-inch wheels are 2.4kg lighter on the front and 1.7kg lighter on the rear, and are designed to deliver greater airflow to the uprated larger 395mm front and 396mm rear brake discs.
Stiffer springs also feature – 30% in the front, 10% in the rear - ensuring there’s less body roll in corners. The SVR utilizes a rear Electronic Active Differential (EAD), and works in conjunction with a comprehensive range of advanced technologies, each calibrated to deliver increased on-road performance and handling.
Inside, the SVR comes with slimline performance quilted leather seats with SVR detailing, similarly-styled rear seats, an SVR-branded leather and aluminium steering wheel, a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot and a Touch Pro infotainment system that includes a 10-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster.
The F-Pace SVR will go on sale in South Africa in the second half of 2018, at a price yet to be announced.
