The all-new Roush Mustang confirmed for SA

Back in 1996, the first-ever Roush Mustang made its debut as an act of celebration for Ford icon Jack Roush. Roush began his automotive career as an engine development engineer for Ford in 1964 before establishing himself as a Performance Engineering in 1976. Roush a true pioneer, had a deep passion for motorsport and began to sell designs and components that met a higher standard of engineering.

The all-new 2021 Roush Mustang will be inspired by these historic moments and aims to deliver an authentic Roush experience, further growing the number of enthusiasts around the world. The all-new Roush Mustang will be available in South Africa through Performance Centre in Pretoria later this year. The Roush Mustang will deliver over 560kW of power and a whopping 910 Nm of torque. It will also come with further upgrades that will enhance the car’s character for road and track use.

The vehicle will feature several other Roush components too, such as two auxiliary coolers mounted beneath the vehicle behind the driver and passenger, a differential cooler, and an automatic transmission cooler, all of which are designed to keep under-body temperatures stable. The output can be raised to a higher 578kW, which will make this the most powerful Stage 3 Roush Mustang alongside its predecessor, the Jack Roush Edition, to ever be launched.

The Performance Centre will also be offering fully Roush-inspired interior updates that capture the vehicle's iconic look. This includes custom gauge cluster overlays, illuminated door sills, sports-leather seats with the Roush logo, Roush-embossed floor mats, and Roush key fobs. To top this off, every new Roush Mustang will get a certificate of authenticity with a serial plaque on the dashboard.

To add further excitement, the Performance Centre will also be offering the Podium Package as an option for those customers looking to be a bit more exclusive from the rest. This package will include a carbon fibre rear wing with active aerodynamics, a sporty Brembo brake upgrade with new pads and rotors, and Roush billet pedals.

Atloli Lesela, Brand Manager at Ford South Africa says “We are immensely proud that the team at Performance Centre is able to bring the latest 2021 Roush Mustang additions to our passionate Mustang customers. These upgrades embody and highlight everything that the Mustang nameplate is renowned for, bringing more power and muscular looks to an already outstanding vehicle.”

Pricing for the Roush Mustang will become available when the first units arrive in South Africa, which is set for the second quarter of this year.
