Novitec Kit Boosts Hardcore 488 Pista to Next Level
The Ferrari 488 Pista is one of Ferrari’s latest and most track-focused production models ever made. It was tested on the popular Fiorano race circuit in Italy and managed to set a lap-time of 1:21,5-seconds. To put that into context, its quicker than a LaFerrari and even the new F8 Tributo and SF90 Stradale around Fiorano.
Safe to say, then, that the 488 Pista is a serious piece of racing kit. But what happens if it’s just not enough? What happens when Ferrari’s most insane production model doesn’t get your heart racing fast enough? Well, the ladies and gentlemen of Novitec have been asking themselves this same question and have finally come up with an answer, and it’s simply called the Novitec 488 Pista Kit.
Inside the kit you’ll find a number of performance and aerodynamic upgrades. The new exhaust system meticulously amplifies the sound of the twin-turbocharged 3.9-litre V8 into an Italian symphony, while working together with an engine software remap to boost the power and torque figures by 68kW and 100Nm respectively, bringing the total outputs to 598kW of power and 898Nm of torque.
In addition to the power upgrades, the kit also brings aerodynamic upgrades in the form of a new carbon fibre aerodynamic package and a suspension that is set up 35mm lower. Weight reduction efforts also benefit from a set of 22-inch Vossen forged alloy wheels that are stuck to a set of ultra-sticky Pirelli P-Zero tyres. The result of these modifications over the ‘standard’ (if we can call it that) 488 Pista is a 0,15-second faster 0-100km/h acceleration time of 2,7-seconds, and a 4km/h higher top speed of 344km/h.
