The only Audi RS6 Avant GT in Africa has been sold for a staggering R4.5 million at an exclusive auction in Cape Town. The final-edition model, number 74 of 660 worldwide, represents the pinnacle of over two decades of Audi's performance wagon lineage.
This limited-edition RS6 Avant GT boasts a potent twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine, delivering 463 kW and 850 Nm of torque. It catapults from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 305 km/h.
The car features an array of enhancements, including adjustable coilover suspension, a revised rear differential, and high-performance Continental Sport Contact 7 tyres.
Visually, the RS6 Avant GT is distinguished by its aggressive styling, carbon fiber accents, a unique front splitter, and a prominent rear diffuser. The interior is equally impressive, with RS bucket seats, Dinamica microfibre upholstery, and exclusive "RS6 GT" badging.
Beyond its performance and aesthetics, the auction had a philanthropic element. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Kutlwanong Centre for Maths, Science, and Technology, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving STEM education in underserved communities.
"The RS6 Avant GT is an automotive icon, and we are thrilled to see it go to a passionate owner," said Sascha Sauer, Head of Audi South Africa. "We are equally proud to support the Kutlwanong Centre, investing in the future of South African youth."
This exclusive auction marks the end of an era for the RS6 Avant as we know it. The nameplate will likely go electric in the next generation.
