Porsche raises the bar with their all-new powerful Taycan.
Porsche has unveiled an exhilarating update for its Taycan range, heralding a new era of electric performance and efficiency. The 2024 makeover spans the entire lineup, including the Taycan sports sedan and the Taycan Cross Turismo wagon, with enhancements that bolster the aesthetic appeal and the driving dynamics of these electric marvels.
At the heart of the 2024 refresh is a significant boost in performance. The Taycan Turbo S, the range's flagship, now features an astonishing system output of 700kW, marking a 140kW increase from its predecessor. This upgrade slashes the sprint time from 0-100km/h to just 2.4 seconds. The base model is present, receiving a 60kW boost to achieve a 0-100km/h time of 4.8 seconds, making every model in the lineup more ferocious than ever.
In addition, Porsche introduces an innovative push-to-pass function within the Sport Chrono package, offering a 70kW over-boost for ten seconds at a button's push. This feature underlines the Taycan's race-bred capabilities, further demonstrated by the Taycan Turbo S setting a new Nurburgring record for EV sedans in prototype form.
The 2024 Taycan range not only pushes the boundaries of performance but also sets new standards in efficiency. With up to 35% improvements in range, depending on the model, and an increase in battery capacity from 93kWh to 105kWh, the Taycan models are poised to take you further on every charge. The Taycan can now cover up to 678km on the WLTP combined cycle, with the Turbo S model offering up to 630km of range. Moreover, Porsche has significantly reduced charging times, with a 10% to 80% charge now achievable in just 18 minutes at fast-charging stations.
All Taycan models come standard with adaptive air suspension, ensuring an optimal balance between comfort and handling precision. The all-wheel-drive models can be equipped with the new Porsche Active Ride suspension, offering unparalleled control and stability across various driving conditions.
The 2024 Taycan benefits from subtle yet impactful design refinements. New flatter headlights incorporating high-resolution HD Matrix technology and refreshed taillight clusters enhance the vehicle's visual presence. The cabin sees an optimised user interface for the instrument cluster, central display, and optional passenger screen, with deeper Apple CarPlay integration and a new in-car video function.
