Nissan X-TRAIL will be coming to Europe in 2022

To further complement their range of stylish crossovers, Nissan took the wraps off their all-new X-Trail SUV. Debuting at the Auto Shanghai, Nissan further announced that this highly anticipated SUV will be introduced in around summer next year. Much like its Qashqai cousin, the X-Trail will be based upon the Alliance CMF-C platform, which is a highly advanced architecture that was designed to accommodate Nissan’s advanced e-POWER powertrain.

The latest X-Trail will be entering its fourth generation and has become a very successful family-oriented SUV. Nissan has somehow found the right formula in keeping the X-Trail nameplate in demand and given how flexible and versatile its interior has become, we can see why. So, what can expect from the new X-Trail? Well for starters a new Nissan e-POWER will be installed. This will be a unique Nissan innovation and a key component in the company’s Intelligent Mobility strategy.

This unique element of the e-POWER been installed is so that the petrol engine will be used solely to generate electricity, while the wheels are driven only by the electric motor. This basically means that the engine can always run within its optimal range. This powertrain innovation is aimed at consumers who are not ready to embrace a fully electric vehicle. The 4WD version will continue with the all-new X-Trail as a natural choice for families who enjoy enduring rugged versatility. This is further supported by advanced snow, gravel, or mud configurable all-wheel drive system that will make the X-Trail both confident on and off the road.

Europeans can expect the new X-Trail to arrive in the summer of 2022. Nissan has clearly had a bold but optimistic approach in unveiling breath-taking vehicles. Back in November 2019, the Japanese brand took to stage to unveil their second-generation Juke and later their fully electric Ariya. The all-new X-Trail has demonstrated again how ambitious Nissan has become in recent years.

Guillaume Cartier, Chairperson, Nissan Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania (AMIEO) region says “The renewal of Nissan’s line-up continues at pace. The new X-Trail will remain true to its well-established SUV formula which has proved so successful for Nissan since the introduction of the first model in 2001. It will offer more efficiency, refinement, versatility, and user-friendly technology. And it will complement its electrified crossover cousins in the range, giving customers an outstanding SUV with an electrified powertrain for their daily needs,”
