JLR South Africa's 'Holiday Heroes' Initiative
Pretoria, South Africa – December 18, 2023: JLR South Africa is proud to introduce its Holiday Heroes initiative, offering exclusive services to JLR clients to ensure their safety and peace of mind during the festive season, whether on the road or at home.
From December 15, 2023, to January 17, 2024, JLR will deploy a dedicated fleet of emergency response vehicles along major holiday routes in South Africa. These vehicles will readily assist JLR clients needing roadside help during their holiday journeys.
Clients can request this service anytime using the onboard eCall and bCall buttons in JLR vehicles equipped with InControl (depending on the vehicle's specifications). Additionally, travellers within South Africa can access this service by calling 012 450 4000, while those in neighbouring countries can dial +27 11 991 8765.
JLR has partnered with Europ Assist Roadside to ensure comprehensive coverage around the clock to enhance its roadside assistance services.
Derrick Dearlove, Customer Experience Manager at JLR South Africa, stated, "Unexpected disruptions like flat tires or mechanical issues can be major inconveniences for holidaymakers. The JLR Holiday Heroes initiative aims to provide our clients with the ultimate convenience and peace of mind, relieving them of any anxiety caused by such incidents and ensuring minimal delays in reaching their destination."
To ensure a seamless experience, owners of vehicles with eCall and bCall functionality are encouraged to update their emergency contact and medical aid details with JLR.
In addition to roadside assistance, JLR clients can opt for a Take Me Home service, available for a fee. This service allows clients to request a designated driver to safely chauffeur them home after a night out, with the added convenience of driving their vehicle home.
For further peace of mind, a Security Assist service is available to clients who may require assistance and protection in any unsafe situation, whether at home or while out and about.
"The Security Assist service complements the Holiday Heroes initiative by providing JLR clients access to 24-hour response wherever they need assistance," added Dearlove.
Moreover, JLR runs a year-round driver training program at JLR EXPERIENCE Johannesburg, equipping clients with the technical skills needed to fully enjoy their Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, or Jaguar, whether on or off-road.
